STRIP-TILL CULTIVATOR FOR DEEP TILLAGE UP TO 22"

The TERRASTRIP ZN is a specially designed cultivator based on the TERRALAND rippers. The high frame robustness allows strip tillage up to a depth of 22″. The TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator makes it possible to cultivate strips with an row spacing of 27.5″ – 29.5″. The transport width of the TERRASTRIP ZN does not exceed 9′ 10″.

TERRASTRIP ZN is a unique combination of a ripper and a strip-till cultivator, suitable for deep strip tillage for establishing row crops, such as corn, sunflower, sugar beet or soya. The specially designed shanks and a robust frame enable tillage up to a depth of 22″.

The basic part of the TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator is a robust frame made of high-strength Alform steel. It provides high robustness and durability at work, even at the maximum depth of 22″.

STRIP-TILLAGE

Brings considerable economic advantages.

The advantages of strip tillage include a faster warming of the processed soil strips, their aeration, reduced erosion, better water absorption when compared with no-till drilling, or precise placement of granular or organic fertilizer into cultivated strips.

TERRASTRIP ZN 8/27.5" - 29.5"

Strip tillage for corn and sunflower

TERRASTRIP ZN 8/27.5″ – 29.5″ is especially suitable for preparing strips for row crops planted with a row spacing of 27.5″-29.5″. It offers a width of 18′ 4″ and it is equipped with two ranks of shanks set at an row spacing of 27.5″ – 29.5″. The implement can be easily folded into the transport position, in which it does not exceed the transport width of 9′ 10″.

ONE FRAME, TWO EQUIPMENT OPTIONS

The TERRASTRIP cultivator can be equipped with two types of shanks

ACTIVE-MIX shank
Zero-Mix shanks

For deep loosening
The special shape of the Active-Mix shanks provides easy soil penetration, and excellent loosening and mixing effect. In one pass, the soil profile is loosened in depth and the soil surface is intensely mixed and levelled.

For aerating soil without mixing
The special Zero-Mix shanks with a negative angle provide ripping without active soil mixing. This operation is suitable for removing hardened soil layers, aerating the soil profile, and creating a proper soil environment in the processed strips. For perfect surface levelling, TERRASTRIP ZN is equipped with the heavy steel Cutpack rolller.

TWO DEPTH SETTING OPTIONS

For fertilizer placement.

Tillage should be supplemented with fertilizer placement, applied directly into the crop root zone. Fertilizer is placed directly into the processed strips. It can be placed at various depth levels. The loosened and fertilized strips are an ideal environment for a rich root system.

COMBO SYSTEM CS

The FERTI-BOX FB_F front mounted tank is designed for fertilizer placement directly in the soil profile and has a capacity of 54-62 bu. Fertilizer is pneumatically distributed from the front tank to the distribution tower mounted on the cultivator.

The FERTI-CART FC has a capacity of 100 bu. The large inclination of the tank also allows to place lower-quality fertilizers. The TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator is easily connected using the three-point hitch.

The COMBO SYSTEM CS is two tanks air-cart which has a total capacity of 140 bu. The strip-till cultivator is connected in the three-point hitch of the COMBO SYSTEM CS. The two tanks air.cart design enables placing two different types of fertilizers in one pass.

Three-point hitch

Easy connection to the three-point hitch of the tractor. Category III/IV hitch.

Distribution tower

Distributes organic or mineral fertilizers evenly in the distribution pipes leading to the individual row units.

Shanks

The shanks layout ensures excellent loosening effect and mixing of crop residue with soil up to a depth of 22″. Two types of shanks are available – for deep tillage or ripping

Shank protection

Each shank is protected, either hydraulically using auto-reset shank system, or mechanically with the shear bolt.

Side shields

Maintain cultivated soil along the working width without the risk of side ridge formation.

Rear packers

Create an ideal fine soil structure and close the soil surface to prevent moisture evaporation.

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

LONG-LIFE POINTS AND WINGS

The point and the entire abrasion area of the abrasion point are covered with plates made of sintered carbides. The front part of the wings is made of carbide plates that minimise wear and tear in the width and maintain the same shape and functionality the whole time. The LONG LIFE model offers up to ten times longer service time when compared with the standard model, ensures a consistent working depth and quality of work, improves recessing, and provides lower costs and time saved by replacing working parts.

SOIL PROFILE FERTILIZATION AND DEEP LOOSENING IN ONE PASS

The system of soil profile fertilization is one of the most efficient methods to maintain a sufficiently balanced nutrient supply in soil, not only in the arable horizon, but also in deeper layers of the soil profile. This innovative method of fertilizer application connected to deep soil cultivation is not only suitable for replenishing deficit nutrients in soil to reach a balanced level of a good supply, but also to improve accessibility of nutrients to plants, and it also has a positive effect on the growth of the root system.

WHAT DO THE FARMERS HAVE TO SAY?

“We took the opportunity to test the new implement by BEDNAR. It was the TERRASTRIP strip till ripper with zero-mix shank and row spacing of 17.7″ with the option to place fertilizers into the soil profile. We cultivated over 2470 acres with the cultivator in a difficult year and we were very pleased. We decided to buy the implement in connection with the air-cart and we will continue developing this method of tillage. The deep fall tillage with TERRASTRIP ZN with subsequent ridge formation contributes to an increase in the tuber crop, as well as sugar yield in 2019. The negative angle provides ripping without active mixing at a depth of up to 22″. The negative angle does not mix soil, disturbs the hardened layers intensely and aerates the soil profile.

Rollers and packers

TANDEM SPIKED Packer

Rear tandem rollers with a diameter of 10″ have overlapping spikes. The overlapping arrangement of the spikes provides a self-cleaning effect. The implement can work in the most extreme conditions without clogging. The rollers can be moved, for example, in rocky soils. Weight: 1136 lb/ft. The packer is suitable for use with Active-Mix shanks.

CUTPACK Packer + scrapers

CUTPACK is a heavy steel packer with a high cutting capability and an excellent reverse compaction effect. Suitable for heavy soils. Packer diameter 25″. Weight: 1606 lb/ft (including scrapers). The packer is suitable for use with Zero-Mix shanks.

STRIP-TILLAGE
The importance of soil-protecting cultivation rests in the positive effect on the soil structure condition, in the reduction of the risk of soil and air erosion, in the management of organic matter, in the reduction of soil moisture loss, or in increasing the activities of soil micro-organisms that contribute to the balanced content of some elements, namely nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) in soil. From an economic aspect soil-protecting technologies cultivate soil with a lower demand on the pulling capacity of the tractor and related fuel consumption savings.
