TERRASTRIP ZN is a specially designed deep cultivator based on the TERRALAND chisel ploughs. The high frame robustness allows strip-till cultivation up to a depth of 21.7 inches. TERRASTRIP ZN is available in folding and rigid arrangement. The rigid version of the TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator is suitable for processing strips with an inter-row spacing of 17.7-20.1 inches, the folding version for wide-row crops with an inter-row spacing of 27.6-29.5 inches.

TERRASTRIP ZN is a unique combination of a chisel plough and a strip-till cultivator, suitable for deep strip cultivation for establishing wide-row crops, such as corn, sunflower, oilseed rape, sugar beet or soya. The specially designed tines and a robust frame enable soil cultivation up to a depth of 21.7 inches.

HIGH ROBUSTNESS

High-strength Alform steel design.

The basic part of the TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator is a robust frame made of high-strength Alform steel. It provides high robustness and durability at work, even at the maximum depth of 21.7 inches.

STRIP-TILL SOIL CULTIVATION

Brings considerable economic advantages.

The advantages of strip-till soil cultivation include a faster warming of the processed soil strips, their aeration, reduced erosion, better water absorption when compared with direct seeding, or targeted application of mineral or organic fertiliser into cultivated strips.

Strip cultivation for corn and sunflower

TERRASTRIP ZN 8/75 is especially suitable for preparing strips for wide-row crops planted with a row spacing of 27.6-31.5 inches. It offers a width of six metres and it is equipped with two rows of tines set at an inter-row spacing of 29.5 (27.6/31.5) inches. The machine can be easily folded into the transport position, in which it does not exceed the transport width of 9.8 feet.

ONE FRAME, TWO EQUIPMENT OPTIONS

The TERRASTRIP cultivator can be equipped with two types of tines.

ACTIVE-MIX tines
Zero-Mix tines

For deep loosening
The special shape of the Active-Mix tines provides easy soil penetration, and excellent loosening and mixing effect. In one pass, the soil profile is loosened in depth and the soil surface is intensely mixed and levelled.

For aerating soil without mixing
The special Zero-Mix tines with a negative angle provide subsoil tillage without active soil mixing. This operation is suitable for removing hardened soil layers, aerating the soil profile, and creating a proper soil environment in the processed strips. For perfect surface levelling, TERRASTRIP ZN is equipped with the heavy steel Cutpack.

TWO DEPTH SETTING OPTIONS

For fertiliser application.

Loosening should be supplemented with profile fertilisation, applied directly into the crop root zone. Fertiliser is applied directly into the processed strips. It can be placed at various depth levels. The loosened and fertilised strips are an ideal environment for a rich root system.

COMBO SYSTEM CS

The FERTI-BOX FB_F front mounted hopper is designed for supply fertilisation directly in the soil profile and has a capacity of 54 – 62 bu. Fertiliser is pneumatically distributed from the front hopper to the distribution head mounted on the cultivator.

The FERTI-CART FC trailed storage tank has a capacity of 100 bu. The large inclination of the hopper also allows to apply lower-quality fertilisers. The TERRASTRIP ZN cultivator is easily aggregated using a three-point hitch.

The COMBO SYSTEM CS trailed double-chamber storage tank has a capacity of 142 bu per each hopper. The strip-till cultivator is aggregated in the three-point hitch of the vehicle. The double-chamber hopper design enables applying two different types of fertiliser in one pass.

Three-point hitch

Easy connection to the three-point hitch of the tractor. Category III/IV hitch.

Distribution head

Distributes applied organic or mineral fertilisers evenly in the distribution pipes leading to the individual cultivation units.

Chisel working section

The chisel section layout ensures excellent loosening effect and mixing of crop residue with soil up to a depth of 21.7 inches. Two types of tines are available – for deep loosening or subsoil tillage.

Tine protection

Each tine is individually protected, either hydraulically, or mechanically with the shear bolt.

Side screens

Maintain cultivated soil along the working width without the risk of side ridge formation.

Rear packers

Create an ideal fine soil structure and close the soil surface to prevent moisture evaporation.

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

LONG-LIFE CHISELS AND WINGS

The tip and the entire abrasion area of the abrasion chisel are covered with plates made of sintered carbides. The front part of the wings is made of carbide plates that minimize wear and tear in the width and maintain the same shape and functionality the whole time. The LONG LIFE model offers up to ten times longer service time when compared with the standard model, ensures a consistent working depth and quality of work, improves recessing, and provides lower costs and time saved by replacing working parts.

PROFILE FERTILISATION AND DEEP LOOSENING IN ONE PASS

The system of profile fertilisation is one of the most efficient methods to maintain a sufficiently balanced nutrient supply in soil, not only in the arable horizon, but also in deeper layers of the soil profile. This innovative method of fertiliser application connected to deep soil cultivation is not only suitable for replenishing deficit nutrients in soil to reach a balanced level of a good supply, but also to improve accessibility of nutrients to plants, and it also has a positive effect on the growth of the root system.

“We took the opportunity to test the new machine by BEDNAR. It was the TERRASTRIP chisel plough with passive working parts and a defined inter-row spacing of 17.7 inches with the option to apply attractive fertilisers into the soil profile. We cultivated over 1,000 hectares with the machine in a difficult year and we were very pleased. We decided to buy the machine in aggregation with the fertiliser storage tank and we will continue developing this method of soil cultivation. The deep autumn loosening with TERRASTRIP ZN with subsequent ridge formation contributes to an increase in the tuber crop, as well as sugar yield in 2019. The tuber crop increased by 13.7% or 15.9% with the new soil cultivation technology (with comparable fertilisation).”

Chisel section

ZERO-MIX tines

The negative angle provides subsoil tillage without active mixing at a depth of up to 21.7 inches centimetres. The negative angle does not mix soil, disturbs the hardened layers intensely and aerates the soil profile.

ACTIVE-MIX tines

Designed for intense deep loosening up to 21.7 inches. The Active-Mix tines disrupt, intensely loosen soil and mix it with crop residue.

Other

Additional side screens - mechanically controllable

They maintain cultivated soil along the working width without the risk of side ridge formation. The machine folds into the working position automatically.

Rollers and packers

TANDEM SPIKED Packer

Rear tandem rollers with a diameter of 9.6 inches have overlapping spikes. The overlapping arrangement of the spikes provides a self-cleaning effect. The machine can work in the most extreme conditions without clogging. The rollers can be moved, for example, in rocky soils. Weight: 157 kg/m. The packer is suitable for use with Active-Mix tines.

CUTPACK Packer with Scrapers

A heavy steel packer with high cutting capability and excellent reconsolidation effect. Suitable for heavy soils and for use with Zero-mix tines. Diameter 24.8 inches, weight 148 lb/ft incl. scrapers.

STRIP-TILL SOIL CULTIVATION
The importance of soil-protecting cultivation rests in the positive effect on the soil structure condition, in the reduction of the risk of soil and air erosion, in the management of organic matter, in the reduction of soil moisture loss, or in increasing the activities of soil micro-organisms that contribute to the balanced content of some elements, namely nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) in soil. From an economic aspect soil-protecting technologies cultivate soil with a lower demand on the pulling capacity of the tractor and related fuel consumption savings.
