Seedbed preparation

Stubble cultivation is one of the most important operations. According to proper agrotechnical procedures, it should be performed as soon as possible after harvest. For this operation, the SWIFTERDISC XE can be equipped with notched disc or aggressive discs with a diameter of 520 × 5 mm or 560 × 5 mm, which ensure excellent cutting, soil mixing, and incorporation of crop residues. The rear packers then consolidate and close the worked soil profile for even weed and volunteer seedlings emergence.

The small diameter of the discs combined with high working speeds allows high circumferential speeds to be achieved, ensuring excellent crumbling and mixing effects of the disc section. Especially for more frequent use in soil preparation, we recommend equipping the SWIFTERDISC XE compact disc harrow with a front Crushbar levelling bar, which is used to level unevenness and break up rough furrows.

HYDRAULIC ADJUSTMENT

Easy and quick adjustment of the working depth of the compact disc harrow.

The exact setting of the required working depth is carried out hydraulically. The working depth of the machine can be easily adjusted using spacers on the hydraulic cylinders of the disc harrows.

CRUSHBAR LEVELLING BAR

Use the compact disc harrow for soil preparation as well.

To increase year-round use, the SWIFTERDISC XE wide working width compact disc harrow can be fitted with a hydraulically controlled Crushbar in front of it. This combination ensures perfect levelling of the soil profile, crumbling of clods, and soil preparation.

FORWARD-SET TRANSPORT AXLE

Contributes to ideal weight distribution.

SWIFTERDISC XE wide working width copact disc harrows have a transport axle positioned in front of the first row of disc sections. This solution contributes to ideal weight distribution of the machine and allows for higher working speeds. Telescopic rods help stabilise the frames on which the disc sections are mounted.

EVEN WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Always the same downforce on both side frames of the disc section.

The basis for high-quality tillage is maintaining the set working depth for uniform cultivation of the soil profile. SWIFTERDISC XE compact disc harrows have the same pressure on the discs across the entire working width of the machine, even at the edges of the harrow, thanks to the forward-mounted axle and the concept of two folding side frames. The machine’s design reduces the number of hydraulic cylinders where pressure loss to the side frames could occur. This solution also contributes to a low number of lubrication points, reduces overall machine wear, and simplifies machine handling both in the field and during transport.

CONTINUOUS AND FAST TURNING AT HEADLAND

Thanks to the support wheels and rear rollers.

The SWIFTERDISC XE wide working width compact disc harrow is very easy to maneuver at headlands. The machine turns on the rear rollers and front support wheels at headlands, only the disc working section is dug in without the need to lift the entire frame. This solution eliminates negative load on the hitch and lightens the tractor when the machine is at the headland.

FORWARD MACHINE FOLDING

Provides compact dimensions and safe transport.

Even with a working width of 12.4 metres, the SWIFTERDISC XE compact disc harrow is very compact during transport, as it does not exceed a transport width of 3 metres and the height of the machine is less than 4 meters. This is mainly due to the side frames folding forward onto the drawbar.

ALFA DRILL SEEDER

Simple and easy catch crop establishment using a compact disc harrow with a seeder.

The SWIFTERDISC XE compact disc harrow can be equipped with the BEDNAR ALFA DRILL seeder for sowing catch crops and small-seeded plants during stubble cultivation in a single pass. The savings in time and fuel are significant in this case. Hopper capacity 800 litres.

Axle shifted forward

Provides ideal distribution of the machine weight and contributes to precise adherence to the set working depth thanks to the identical downforce on the disc section.

Front double support wheels

Provides excellent terrain contouring and maintains the set working depth along the entire width of the machine.

Crushbar levelling bar

The hydraulically controlled Crushbar levelling bar is especially suitable for initial surface levelling and for breaking the rough furrow before the disc section. The individual leveller paddles are reinforced. It is easily controlled using the hydraulic circuit from the comfort of the cabin.

Disc section

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

TWIN-DISC MOUNTING SYSTEM

One arm for two discs provides a high material throughput. Crop residue can easily flow through the machine (large quantities of straw, crop residue after grain corn). Most compact disc harrows only have one arm per disc. Such design restricts the flow of material namely in wet conditions, or when there are large quantities of crop residue.

RUBBER SEGMENT DISC SECURING

The mounting of two discs on one arm provides twice the space for rubber segment securing. The rubber segments absorb shocks formed during soil cultivation. The cultivator works fast and without maintenance, even in very difficult conditions. The rubber is high quality, with a long service life.

MAINTENANCE-FREE BEARINGS

The ball bearings with an oblique contact are closed by two static and one dynamic cassette seal with four sealing ribs, and they move in a solid metal body. The bearings are attached to the disc with six bolts. They are oversized, which ensures a trouble-free operation.

The specially shaped discs offer superior cutting and mixing, penetrating dry soil effectively. With aggressive edges along the circumference, they seamlessly incorporate a large quantity of crop residue. Sharp blades efficiently cut through residue, and the profiled shape ensures optimal soil residue mixing. Available in a diameter of 520 × 5 and 560 × 5 mm.

The disc section is usually equipped with notched discs with a diameter of 520 x 5 mm; the diameter of 560 x 5 mm is available on request.

The segmented packer is made of massive steel parts for perfect consolidation, suitable for all types of soil. The individual segments perfectly crumble clods. Packer diameter 530 mm. Weight: 202 kg/m (including scrapers).

CUTPACK Packer + scrapers

CUTPACK is a heavy steel packer with high cutting abilities and an excellent reverse consolidation effect. Suitable for heavy soils. Packer diameter 630 mm. Weight: 222 kg/m (including scrapers). The packer is suitable for use with ZERO-MIX legs.

RUBBERPACKER + scrapers

The Rubberpacker is a solid packer made of hard natural rubber, suitable for any conditions. The levelling effect is excellent thanks to the packer weight. Soil adhesion to the packer is almost none thanks to the rubber and scrapers. Packer diameter 590 mm. Weight: 217 kg/m (including scrapers).

V-RING Packer + scrapers

V-RING is a heavy steel packer suitable for intense crumbling and reverse soil consolidation. The packer is suitable for all types of soil. Packer diameter 630 mm. Weight: 169 kg/m (including scrapers).

Double V-RING Packer

V-RING is a packer with individual rings shaped in a V. The packer has an outstandingly low stickiness, which prevents the packer from clogging when wet. The rows are offset, which provides an excellent self-cleaning effect. The double packer increases machine stability at work. Packer diameter 630 mm. Weight: 162 kg/m.

Double U-RING Packer (600 mm)

The U-RING packer is a double-row steel packer. The rows are offset, which provides an excellent self-cleaning effect. The packer is great for crumbling, and the U-shape rings and the low risk of clogging make it suitable for work in wet conditions. The double packer increases machine stability at work. Packer diameter 600 mm. Weight: 230 kg/m.
