The TERRASTRIP ZN is a specially designed strip-till subsoiler based on the TERRALAND. The high frame robustness allows strip-till cultivation up to a depth of 55 centimetres. The TERRASTRIP ZN makes it possible to cultivate strips with a row spacing of 70–75 centimetres. The transport width of the TERRASTRIP ZN does not exceed 3 m.

TERRASTRIP ZN is a unique combination of a subsoiler and a strip-till cultivator, suitable for deep strip tillage for establishing row crops, such as corn or sunflower. The specially designed legs and a robust frame enable soil cultivation up to a depth of 55 centimetres.

HIGH ROBUSTNESS

High-strength Alform steel design.

The basic part of the TERRASTRIP ZN subsoiler is a robust frame made of high-strength Alform steel. It provides high robustness and durability at work, even at the maximum depth of 55 centimetres.

STRIP TILLAGE

Brings considerable economic advantages.

The advantages of strip-tillage include a faster warming of the tilled soil strips, their aeration, reduced erosion, better water absorption when compared with direct drilling, or targeted application of mineral or organic fertiliser into loosed strips.

TERRASTRIP ZN 8/70-75

The right machine for strip tillage prior to planting corn or sunflower.

The TERRASTRIP ZN 8/75 cultivator is especially suitable for preparing strips for row crops planted with a row spacing of 70–75 centimetres. It has a working width of 5.6 m, is equipped with two rows of legs with adjustable spacing of 70 or 75 cm. The machine can be easily folded into the transport position, in which it does not exceed the transport width of 3 metres.

ONE FRAME, TWO EQUIPMENT OPTIONS

The TERRASTRIP subsoiler can be equipped with two types of legs.

ACTIVE-MIX legs
Zero-Mix legs

For deep loosening
The special shape of the Active-Mix legs provides easy soil penetration, and excellent loosening and mixing effect. In one pass, the soil profile is loosened in depth and the soil surface is intensely mixed and levelled.

For aerating soil without mixing
The special Zero-Mix legs with a negative angle subsoil without active soil mixing. This operation is suitable for removing hardened soil layers, aerating the soil profile, and creating a proper soil environment in the tilled strips. For perfect surface levelling, TERRASTRIP ZN is equipped with the heavy steel Cutpack.

TWO DEPTH SETTING OPTIONS

For fertiliser placement.

Loosening should be supplemented with profile fertilisation, placed directly into the root zone. Fertiliser is placed directly into the tilled strips. It can be placed at various depth levels. The loosened and fertilised strips are an ideal environment for a rich root system.

COMBO SYSTEM CS

The FERTI-BOX FB_F front mounted hopper is designed for supply fertilisation directly in the soil profile and has a capacity of 1,900-2,200 litres. Fertiliser is pneumatically distributed from the front hopper to the distribution head mounted on the subsoiler.

The FERTI-CART FC has a capacity of 3,500 litres. The large inclination of the hopper also allows to apply lower-quality fertilisers. The TERRASTRIP ZN subsoiler is easily connected using the three-point hitch.

The COMBO SYSTEM CS is double-chamber trailed hopper which has a total capacity of 5,000 litres. The strip-till subsoiler is connected in the three-point hitch of the COMBO SYSTEM CS. The double-chamber hopper design enables placement of two different types of fertiliser in one pass.

Three-point hitch

Easy connection to the three-point hitch of the tractor. Category III/IV hitch

Distribution head

Distributes applied organic or mineral fertilisers evenly in the distribution pipes leading to the individual row units.

Leg working section

The leg section layout ensures excellent loosening effect and mixing of crop residues with soil up to a depth of 55 centimetres. Two types of legs are available – for deep loosening or subsoil tillage.

Leg protection

Each leg is protected, either hydraulically using auto-reset leg system, or mechanically with the shear bolt.

Side deflectors

Maintain tilled soil along the working width without the risk of side ridge formation.

Rear packers

Create an ideal fine soil structure and close the soil surface to prevent moisture evaporation.

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

LONG-LIFE POINTS AND WINGS

The point and the entire abrasion area of the abrasion point are covered with plates made of sintered carbides. The front part of the wings is made of carbide plates that minimise wear and tear in the width and maintain the same shape and functionality the whole time. The LONG LIFE model offers up to ten times longer service time when compared with the standard model, ensures a consistent working depth and quality of work, improves recessing, and provides lower costs and time saved by replacing working parts.

PROFILE FERTILISATION AND DEEP LOOSENING IN ONE PASS

The system of profile fertilisation is one of the most efficient methods to maintain a sufficiently balanced nutrient supply in soil, not only in the arable horizon, but also in deeper layers of the soil profile. This innovative method of fertiliser application connected to deep soil cultivation is not only suitable for replenishing deficit nutrients in soil to reach a balanced level of a good supply, but also to improve accessibility of nutrients to plants, and it also has a positive effect on the growth of the root system.

“We took the opportunity to test the new machine by BEDNAR. It was the TERRASTRIP with zero-mix legs set up on row spacing of 45 cm with the option to place fertilisers into the soil profile. We cultivated over 1,000 hectares with the machine in a difficult year and we were very pleased. We decided to buy the machine in connection with the trailed hopper Ferti-Cart. We will continue developing this method of soil cultivation. The deep autumn loosening with TERRASTRIP ZN with subsequent ridge formation contributes to an increase in the tuber crop, as well as sugar yield in 2019. The tuber crop increased by 13.7% or 15.9% with the new soil cultivation technology (with comparable fertilisation).”

ZERO-MIX legs

The negative angle provides subsoil tillage without active mixing at a depth of up to 55 centimetres. The negative angle does not mix soil, disturbs the hardened layers intensely and aerates the soil profile.

ACTIVE-MIX legs

Designed for intense deep loosening up to 55 centimetres. The ACTIVE-MIX legs disrupt, intensely loosen soil and mix it with crop residue.

Other

Additional side deflectors - mechanically adjustable

They keep cultivated soil along the working width without the risk of side ridge formation. The machine folds into the working position automatically.

Rollers and packers

Tandem Spiked Roller

Rear double roller with a diameter of 245 mm have overlapping spikes. The overlapping arrangement of the spikes provides a self-cleaning effect. The machine can work in the most extreme conditions without clogging. The rollers can be moved, for example, in rocky soils. Weight: 157 kg/m. The packer is suitable for use with ACTIVE-MIX legs.

CUTPACK Packer + scrapers

CUTPACK is a heavy steel packer with high cutting abilities and an excellent soil reconsolidation. Suitable for heavy soils. Packer diameter 630 mm. Weight: 222 kg/m (including scrapers). The packer is suitable for use with ZERO-MIX legs.

STRIP TILLAGE
The importance of conservation tillage lies in its positive effect on soil structure, in reducing the risk of water and wind erosion, in the management of soil organic matter, in lowering the evaporation of soil moisture and in increasing the activity of soil micro-organisms, which contribute to a balanced content of certain elements, particularly nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) in the soil. From an economic point of view, conservation technologies also make it possible to till the soil with a lower draft power requirement from the tractor, resulting in fuel savings.
