SWIFTER SE is a large seedbed cultivator designed for high daily outputs thanks to the working width of 26′ 3″ to 39′ 4″. Like any other BEDNAR seedbed cultivators, the SWIFTER SE product line has exchangeable working sections to meet the requirements of seedbed preparation for a specific crop. Including the combination of up to eight operations in one pass. An advantage of the SWIFTER SE is the independent suspension of the working sections for perfect terrain contouring. Safe transport of the implement, even with the width of 39′ 4″, is ensured by folding the side frames forward to the drawbar.

UP TO 8 OPERATIONS IN ONE PASS

Creating a seedbed for proper and even crop emergence.

Combining several operations into one means fewer passes through the field and lower costs of tillage. The front levelling bar or leveller perfectly levels off any unevenness. The front crumbling roller crumbles the clods. The main working section undercuts, aerates and warms up the soil layer. The final clod crumbling is provided by various types of rollers in combination with other equipment behind the rollers.

A sweep working section (summer and fall seedbed preparation – winter cereals, canola)

This working section can be used for summer and fall preparation when soil needs to be loosened, undercut and mixed after the previous harvest. The 10.5″ sweeps in two overlapping ranks undercut the soil profile along the entire implement width, creating a firm bottom. At the same time, soil is aggressively processed thanks to the working angle of the sweeps, creating a loosening top layer. Each sweep is mounted on a flexible shank that provides a 3D effect (horizontal and vertical movement) which protects the sweep from damage.

The section is especially suitable for spring seedbed preparation before seeding sugar beet where it is required to adequately manage spring moisture, but still prepare a precise seedbed. The sweep angle does not mix soil vertically, but the soil is still undercut in the whole area thanks to the overlapping sweeps that are 6.7″ wide. Another benefit is the reduced demand on the towing vehicle power.

Gamma-point working section (spring seedbed preparation – spring cereals, corn)

This section is suitable for early spring operations, such as required before seeding barley. The four ranks of gamma points at a negative angle aerate and warm up soil without bringing wet particles to the surface, which preserves winter moisture. It is important for a fast start of growth of spring crop. The spring-loading of each tine enables working at high speed. The gamma points for this section are also available in the LONG LIFE version.

WAVE-FLEX SYSTEM

Maintains even cultivation depth along the entire implement width.

The Wave-Flex system means that the individual sections (width of 6′ 7″ or 9′ 10″) are independently suspended on the side frames using the towing arms in the front and contouring arms in the rear. The system helps maintain the set working depth. The soil profile is evenly cultivated along the entire working width.

PROVEN DESIGN

Do not lose time, work at headland without having to lift the implement.

The design of the SWIFTER SE cultivator enables turning the implement at headland without having to lift the working sections. Even so, we recommend turning on the headland with slightly excavated working sections and a larger turning radius. The telescopic connecting rods stabilise the side frames not only when turning, but also at higher working speed.

FORWARD FOLDING OF SIDE FRAMES

Smart folding for safe transport.

The SWIFTER SE large cultivator can be easily folded into the transport position from the tractor cabin. The fully hydraulic folding of the working sections forward to the drawbar provides compact transport dimensions of up to 9′ 10″ of transport width, required for transport on roads in EU countries.

TRANSPORT WHEELS TRACK ERADICATORS

Precise loosening of hardened soil.

The large SWIFTER SE seedbed cultivators with a working width from 26′ 3″ to 39′ 4″ can be equipped with tractor track eradicators – either fixed, or telescopic. The SE 33′ and SE 39′ models can now be equipped with the transport wheels track eradicators.

THIRD CROSSKILL ROLLER

For maximum work quality.

The SWIFTER SE 10000 cultivator can be equipped with a third crosskill roller on request. The last crosskill roller has a diameter of 14″ and creates the perfect soil structure, namely in difficult conditions, such as dry summer months.

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

COMPRESSING SPRING

Most seedbed cultivators equipped with crosskill rollers incur slackness between the individual crosskill rings after working for some number of acres. We use a compressing spring in SWIFTER cultivators, mounted on the shaft where the crosskill rollers are as well. The spring continuously presses on the crosskill rings and eliminates slackness between the individual rings.

CRUSHBAR LEVELLER

The front hydraulic Crushbar leveller allows the operator to ideally adjust the working angle of the leveller according to the field conditions in the comfort of the cabin. When compared with a mechanically controlled leveller, it is possible to achieve savings of up to 0,11 gallons of diesel per acre.

FLOATING FRAME MOUNTING

The floating mounting of the side frames allows contouring terrain unevenness (swinging +/- 8″ from the horizontal plane at the ends of the side frames).

SLATTED ROLLER WITH A REPLACEABLE PIN

The slatted roller with a diameter of 15″ and with a replaceable pin consists of a casing with an internal cone and a pin with an external cone. When the pin is damaged, it is not required to replace the whole slatted roller, but only the pin.

MAINTENANCE-FREE BEARINGS

Roller bearings are adjusted to the high circumferential speed and are maintenance-free. The operator thus does not have to regularly lubricate each bearing, which there are many on a seedbed cultivator. Multiple gaskets prevent contamination of the bearing and the reinforced gasket design reduces its damage.

WHAT DO THE FARMERS HAVE TO SAY?

“The BEDNAR seedbed cultivator works perfectly in our conditions, the fields are prepared as well as gardens, and I can only recommend the implement. BEDNAR SWIFTER SE 26′ prepares about 100 to 125 acres per day, but it all depends on the number of passes and size of the fields. Soil is cultivated at a depth of 3″ and the set travels at a speed of around 7.5 mph (12 km/h).”

An ideal design for all types of soil with rocks. The large spacing between ranks prevents rocks from getting stuck and blocking the rollers. The universal frame enables increasing the spacing between the ranks of rollers – a smaller distance provides a self-cleaning effect even in wet conditions, a larger distance provides a sufficient space in rocky soils.

SEEDBED PREPARATION
Seedbed preparation is an important operation for the formation of a uniform and balanced seedbed prior to crop establishment. Each crop and field requires different seedbed preparation based on the climate, or the chosen date of tillage. The aim of the seedbed preparation is to create an ideal soil structure in the field, with a harder bottom and loose top soil layer, to level the field after previous operations, and to open, warm up and aerate the soil profile for even crop emergence.
