Twelve metres of width, twelve advantages of the EFECTA CE seed drill

In autumn 2020, we are introducing the new wide seed drill called EFECTA CE with a working width of 12 metres. With its dimensions, the seed drill is an ideal addition to the BEDNAR technological line in the field of wide machines. In spite of the fact that soil blocks on many European markets are getting smaller, the working width of 12 metres is convenient for many farms also in terms of its potential use in the system of controlled traffic farming (CTF).

EFECTA CE represents an important novelty in the BEDNAR product portfolio. When developing the machine, the BEDNAR engineers and researches used well-established and popular designs that customers have been in favour of in the OMEGA OO_L and OO_FL seed drill series.

Today, we have another article for your, entitled TWELVE METRES OF WIDTH, TWELVE ADVANTAGES OF THE EFECTA CE SEED DRILL.

1. 12-METRE WIDE, YET HIGHLY VERSATILE

EFECTA CE with a working width of 12 metres is the most versatile machine in this category, especially in terms of the option operating equipment that mounts before the drill coulters. Customers can choose from three types of coulters – PROFI / TURBO or FERTI, or use the Crushbar leveller. No other manufacturer offers such options in this category.

2. SEEDING BAR AS WELL AS DRILL COULTER PARALLELOGRAM

The implementation of the proven parallelogram in the individual sections of the seeding bar, suspended on the side frames, is a fundamental innovation we have introduced based on customer tests. In addition to the proven mounting of each drill coulter on the parallelogram, EFECTA CE offers two parallelograms. All of that to ensure maximum seed placement precision.

3. THE TRIED AND TESTED HOPPER CHOICE

The pressurised hoppers allow for dosing higher volumes of fertilizer (up to 250 kg/ha in the EFECTA CE seed drill) and to seed with an amount of up to 300 kg/ha. The plastic design has a positive effect on the pulling properties. The seed drill is lighter thanks to that. The hopper has two chambers with a total capacity of 6,000 l.

4. FOUR DISTRIBUTION HEADS = SAME DISTANCE

The distance of the individual seed ducts from the distribution head, or the dosage mechanism, plays an important role in managing high seeding amounts. EFECTA CE has four distribution heads that ensure the same distance to all the drill coulters.

5. FOUR SEEDING MECHANISMS FOR HIGH DOSES

The individual hoppers work with two seeding mechanisms and so EFECTA CE has a total of four seeding mechanisms for better distribution and standard dosage of seeds/fertilizer. The stainless dispensing mechanism for seeds/fertilizer is driven by electric motor.

6. TWO INTER-ROW SPACING OPTIONS

We should also mention, in terms of competition, that BEDNAR EFECTA CE is the only machine in its category that offers two inter-row spacing options. The options are 16.7 or 12.5 centimetres. EFECTA CE thus offers customers to adjust the machine exactly to their needs.

7. DOUBLE EDGE DRILL COULTERS FOR MAXIMUM PRECISION

The double edge drill coulters represent an interesting equipment option. When seeding is done on a slope, the seed drill may slip down and thus create strips that are not seeded. When EFECTA CE includes this equipment, the double edge drill coulters seed twice – 50% one way and 50% the other way. This results in a row that is 100% seeded.

8. SAFE TRANSPORT

When developing the machine, we also paid attention to its transportation on roads. EFECTA CE meets the EU traffic terms and conditions with its parameters. The transport width of the machine is 3 metres and the length is 7.8 metres. The wide-profile wheels contribute to an overall better stability of the seed drill during transport.

9. EASY CONTROL

Easy control is not only important from the operator’s point of view, but also for clear and transparent settings of the individual parameters for quality crop establishment. EFECTA CE is a smart machine that can be linked to the tractor via the ISO BUS technology. It can be controlled either through the tractor screen, or by any of the series of BEDNAR touch screens with a diagonal measurement of the display of up to 12.1.

10. A SEED DRILL THAT SAVES MONEY

Today’s seed drills are not only expected to establish crops precisely, but also to ideally save the owner’s money spent on the seeds. EFECTA CE provides the Section Control function for every three metres of the width (one distribution head), or the option of variable seed and fertilizer dosage on the basis of the regulation maps.

11. DETAILS MAKE A WHOLE

Details are crucial even in such a large machine. The side frames are equipped with double support wheels on the edges for perfect terrain tracing. The tractor track cultivators and the track cultivators after the seed drill wheels also contribute to the placement of seeds at the same depth by preventing any unevenness.

12. ALFA-DRILL SEEDING UNIT FOR BETTER USE

The BEDNAR brand builds on the agronomic know-how in the area of catch crop, growing auxiliary crops, or profile fertilization. To utilize the EFECTA CE seed drill even better, it can be equipped with the ALFA-DRILL seeding unit with a capacity of 400/800 litres. This solution allows for a variable seeding of up to 3 different types of seeds, including mixed seeds.
