Subsoiling is an operation related to the development of minimizing technologies. The healthy soil structure if often damaged by a combination of various negative factors.
The basis of subsoiling is performing this operation at the right time and above all, at the correctly selected working depth
Farming soil is usually damaged when soil is cultivated at the wrong time, by creating a subsoil layer due to tillage, or impermeable layer created by continuous soil cultivation at the same depth. The soil structure suffers when heavy machines travel across the field.
Subsoiling Helps Recover Soil Structure
Subsoiling is no longer a separate operation used for removing pools of water from fields, created due to impermeability. It might seem quite often that the work of the subsoiler in the field is not visible at first sight. It is because the benefits of subsoiling cannot be observed on the soil surface, but underneath the surface.

As we are in close contact with farmers when developing our machines, we know that deep cultivation is not always the right operation. Especially in summer, it may lead to the loss of the most valuable thing we have had in our fields in the recent hot years – soil moisture. The introduction of the combined TERRALAND DO disc-chisel plough offers farmers the option to equip the machine with ACTIVE-MIX tines for deep cultivation and the new type of ZERO-MIX tines for subsoiling without active soil mixing. This alternative seems to be very beneficial in combination with the heavy steel Cutpack.
New Equipment Options for TERRALAND TN
For 2021, we are introducing the ZERO-MIX tines with a negative angle for the most widespread model series of the TERRALAND TN chisel ploughs. The passive ZERO-MIX tines are 60 mm wide. You can choose from tines with 250 mm wings, the mole version, or tines without wings. The advantage of the ZERO-MIX tines is that they do not bring the infertile soil layers up to the surface, even when working at a great depth. These tines are available only in combination with the heavy rear steel Cutpack that creates a furrowed surface in the field. It increases the area for the absorption of water in soil.

One Frame, Two Different Types of Equipment
The main advantage for the customer lies in the possibility to use both versions of tines and rollers on a single frame. If you decide to purchase the TERRALAND TN chisel plough with ZERO-MIX tines and Cutpack, you can exchange those working parts for ACTIVE-MIX tines with spiked rollers at any time.
In addition to the TERRALAND TN, TN_PROFI and TO chisel ploughs, you can also find this version with considerable agronomic benefits in the combined TERRALAND DO and ACTROS RO machines.
