Private Farmers Bet on the BEDNAR OMEGA Seed Drill

Mr. Zdeněk Vrana manages 50 hectares of farmland and provides agricultural services to other farmers on another 40 hectares. Mr. Vrana is one of the private farmers who purchased a new OMEGA seed drill by BEDNAR in 2021.

A Recommendation from Satisfied Operator Helped Decide

Mr. Vrana gradually picked up the farming business from his father. He manages 50 hectares where he grows standard market crops – rapeseed, wheat, soya and barley. “This year I have achieved very good yields. I harvested rapeseed with an average yield of 3.2 t/ha and wheat with a yield of 7 t/ha,” Mr. Vrana assesses this year’s harvest.

The seed drill is aggregated with a JOHN DEERE tractor with an output of 143 HP

Mr. Vrana uses standard soil cultivation technology with a plough. He tills soil for all the crops and then cultivates the fields with a seedbed cultivator prior to seeding.

“Once I was driving with the tractor for some maintenance and I saw the OMEGA OO 3000L seed drill by BEDNAR at the dealership. I started chatting with the seller about the seed drill and when I came back to pick up the tractor, the machine was already aggregated to it. I tried the seed drill and never returned it. I appreciate the large hopper, which is very important to me because I have to refill seeds during work at the courtyard. Overall, I like the configuration of the machine and the quality of seed placement. The difference is considerable when compared with the previous seed drill,” Mr. Vrana adds.

A Small Seed Drill with PROFI Equipment

Mr. Vrana’s OMEGA OO 3000L seed drill has PROFI equipment, including the complete hydraulic setting of the individual machine sections (disc sections, PROFI coulter sections or drill coulter down pressure). It is also equipped with the front Crushbar leveller, tractor track cultivators and discs with a diameter of 460 x 5 mm in the aggressive version that excel in the crumbling effect. The OMEGA seed drill is also equipped with seed flow sensors.
