Masters in Every Season: Experience with BEDNAR Machines

Farmers from Hungary, Germany and Slovakia share their experiences with BEDNAR machines in the first three episodes of Masters in Every Season.

The Masters in Every Season series introduces farmers from across Europe and their experience of using BEDNAR machines in real farming conditions. What motivates them to modernise their machinery? How do crops established with modern technologies perform? And why are some farms switching to direct drilling?

Hungary: Eight Seasons with OMEGA and the Next Step Forward

The first stop is Hungary, at the farm of David Gergely. After eight seasons and over 11,000 hectares drilled with his previous OMEGA seed drill, he decided to build on that experience by investing in the new‑generation OMEGA OO 8000 FL.

What convinced him to invest in the new model? What are his expectations of the upgraded equipment, new software and simplified setup? And will the new machine match the reliability of its predecessor?

Germany: What Can Roots Tell Us About Crop Establishment?

In the second episode, Václav Brant visits Germany to assess crops established with the MATADOR MO.

Across several fields of winter oilseed rape, winter rye, winter barley and winter wheat, he examines root development. Often it is beneath the soil surface that the true quality of crop establishment becomes evident, showing how effectively conditions for plant growth have been created and how well the crops are prepared for the next stages of development.

How are the different crops performing, and what can their root systems reveal about the establishment method?

Slovakia: Direct Drilling as Part of a Complete Farming System

The third episode takes viewers to Slovakia, where Aurel Lantódy farms approximately 780 hectares.

Over time he has moved away from a conventional plough‑based system and adopted technologies designed to minimise soil disturbance. One of the key machines in this system is the DIRECTO NO direct drill, complemented by other BEDNAR machines such as VERSATILL VN_L, TILLCUT TE and MULCHER.

What practical experience accompanies the change in farming system, and what role does direct drilling play within the overall approach?

Different Conditions, One Common Goal

Hungary, Germany and Slovakia each represent different farming conditions, crops and cultivation approaches. Yet they all share the same objective: finding solutions that make both agronomic and economic sense.

The Masters in Every Season series offers an authentic look at real farmers and their practical experience in the field. This is only the beginning — more episodes from across Europe will be released in the coming months.
