In July 2023, the SWIFTERDISC XE 18400 MEGA worked incredible 1,901 acres during a continuous 24-hour operation. The “24 HOURS RECORD” event took place in Romania.

Choose the blades you need

Stubble management is one of the most important farming procedures. According to the proper agricultural practices it should be done as soon after harvest as possible. For this operation the SWIFTERDISC XE_MEGA can be equipped with notched or aggressive disc blades with 20.5- or 22-inch diameter providing excellent penetration, cutting, mixing of soil and incorporation of crop residue. Rear rollers reconsolidate the tilled soil profile to ensure even emergence and germination of weeds and volunteer grains.

X-PRECISE SYSTEM

Precise disc guidance in the right track

SWIFTERDISC XE_MEGA has disc sections arranged symmetrically in the shape of the letter X. This innovative design eliminates machine’s side drifting, which enables the implement to precisely follow the tractor. The middle disc eliminates the risk of ridge formation.

EVEN WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Always the same downpressure on both wing frames

Maintaining the set working depth for even soil profile processing is the foundation of quality tillage. The SWIFTERDISC XE_MEGA disc harrows apply the same downpressure on all discs across the entire machine width thanks to the transport axle position and the concept of two folding side frames. This arrangement of the machine lowers the number of hydraulic cylinders where the wing frame downpressure could drop. This design also reduces the number of necessary lubrication points, the overall wear of the machine and improves machine’s agility, both in the field and on the road.

CONVIENT TURNING ON HEADLAND

Lifting the disc section is all you need to do

SWIFTERDISC XE_MEGA is easily maneuvered despite its maximum working width of 60 feet, even on headlands. It makes headland turns using the rear rollers, front swivel gauge wheels and transport axle. This design eliminates the negative load on the hitch and unweighting of the tractor rear during a headland turn.

Less passes, reduced compaction

The CTF (controlled traffic farming) system eliminates soil compaction and optimizes traffic of equipment setups. While working, each setup travels across the field in particular tramlines of a given grid with a span according to the equipment working width (20, 40, 60, 80 feet, etc.) which limits soil compaction only to permanent wheel tracks that could be easily deep tilled.

Forward folding of side frames

Even with the largest working width on the market (60.4 ft), the SWIFTERDISC XE_MEGA disc harrow is very compact in transport mode as it does not exceed the transport width of 10 feet and the transport height stays just below 13 feet, even when equipped with double V-RING or U-RING packers. Such parameters are achieved mainly thanks to the forward folding of the side frames toward the tongue. The tandem transport axle with wide base flotation tires ensures a smooth ride.

OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

MAINTENANCE-FREE BEARINGS

Our oblique contact ball bearings are closed by two static and one dynamic cassette seal with four sealing ribs and run in a solid metal body. The hubs are attached to the blade with six bolts. They are oversized to ensure a trouble-free operation.

RUBBER TORSION PROTECTION

Two-disc-blades-per-arm design provides twice the space for rubber torsion protection. The rubber segments absorb shocks coming from the blades working the ground. The disc harrow works fast and without maintenance even in the most difficult conditions. The segments are made from high quality rubber with a long service life.

TWIN-DISC MOUNTING SYSTEM

One arm for two blades provides excellent trash flow. Crop residue such as huge amounts of straw or cornstalks can easily pass through the machine. Most high-speed discs have only one disc blade on each arm. Such design restricts the flow of the material namely in wet conditions or in heavy residue.

X-PRECISE SYSTEM DISC SECTION

The unique design ensures precise implement trailing behind the tractor. As a result, the entire working width is being used since there is no side drifting of the machine.

Aggressive discs

The optional specifically shaped blades deliver a higher cutting and mixing effect together with better penetration in dry conditions. The aggressive discs have many sharp cutting edges along the circumference for efficient sizing and easy incorporation of large amounts of crop residue. Available in both 20.5- or 22-inch diameter with 0.2-inch thickness.

The disc section comes with 20.5- or 22-inch notched blades with 0.2-inch thickness as standard equipment.

A solid packer made of hard natural rubber suitable for all conditions with excellent levelling effect due to its weight. Very low adhesion thanks to the used rubber compound and scrapers. Diameter 23.2 inches, weight 146 lb/ft incl. scrapers.

V-RING Packer with Scrapers

A heavy steel packer for intense crumbling and soil profile reconsolidation suitable for all types of soil. Diameter 24.8 inches, weight 114 lb/ft incl. scrapers.

Double V-RING Packer

A packer made of individual V-shaped rings with low adhesion, outstanding trash flow and resistance to plugging in wet conditions. The offset layout provides an excellent self-cleaning effect and improves the machine stability at work. Diameter 24.8 inches, weight 110 lb/ft.

Double U-RING Packer (23.6-inch)

A two-row steel packer consisting of individual U-shaped rings. The offset layout provides an exceptional self-cleaning effect and improves the machine stability at work. The packer excels in crumbling and its resistance to plugging makes it well suitable for work in wet conditions. Diameter 23.6 inches, weight 155 lb/ft.

Fast and quality stubble cultivation is one of the most important tillage procedures. According to good agrotechnological practices it should be carried out as soon as possible after harvest. This will ensure the proper soil moisture management, a rapid emergence of weeds and so prevent a later weed infestation.
