The technology is used by the FENIX FO, FO L, FN universal cultivators, in aggregation with the front or rear-mounted fertiliser hopper, Fertibox. This technology is mainly used for soil preparation prior to establishing crop, namely cereals. In this case, soil is loosened with a universal cultivator to a depth of 20 – 30cm. The working “share” is equipped with a special application tip for the application of the fertiliser which distributes the selected type of fertiliser (in this case NPK, with prevailing content of P and K) all over the area along the entire width of the cultivator. The fertiliser is then placed in a profile manner to a depth of 10 – 15cm according to the soil conditions. Last year, several semi-operating trials verifying this technology prior to the establishment of the winter wheat crop were founded in AG Skořenice a.s., district of Ústí nad Orlicí.
The technology is primarily used by the Terraland TN, TO chisel ploughs in aggregation with a front or rear-mounted fertiliser hopper. The Terraland shares are equipped with application tips that apply fertiliser (NP with prevailing P) in the row, not all over the area as the aforementioned Fenix does. The shares are spaced 40 – 45cm according to the construction of the machine. The current three-year-long verifying trials show that this wider inter-row distance is also sufficient. Terraland loosens soil to depth according to the conditions up to 40cm, and places fertiliser at the profile of 20 – 25cm according to the conditions. Thanks to the ideally prepared soil structure (prepared in depth, aerated and without compaction), the rapeseed roots can easily use nutrients stored in the profile. Currently, we have several other semi-operating trials where we have been verifying the method of placement of applied fertiliser, in particular verifying the ideal depth of placement, batch and type of fertiliser in relation to the increase in the crops.
Within the improvement of the physical and chemical properties of soil, we modify the soil pH reaction to the optimal level. This technology can optimise the pH level to the optimal 6 – 6.5 which stabilises the soil conditions for crop vegetation thanks to the application of granulated lime into the soil profile. The aim of the application is to improve pH in the deeper layers of arable soil. By that we achieve optimisation of the pH level in deeper layers of arable soil which promotes the release of immobilised nutrients (PK; Mg) for the following crop. The cultivated crop then has deeper roots and can use nutrients immobilised from the deeper stored layers. It is one of the ways on how to make soil preparation prior to establishing crop more efficient when we place the required batch of granulated lime into the soil profile in a single pass during deep soil cultivation. Today, there are several manufacturers on the market who supply granulated lime. During the several operating trials at various locations, we used granulated lime in a batch of 500kg/ha at different depths. There were no issues with the application in spite of the large batches. We will inform you of the results of all our semi-operating trials at our “Spring Seminars” in 2018.
