ROW-MASTER: Smart solutions for healthier vegetation

Modern agriculture faces challenges such as limited soil permeability, climatic fluctuations and the need to reduce costs without impacting yields. Row cultivation is a key agronomic operation in this environment. The ROW-MASTER row cultivator delivers precisely targeted interventions between the rows that not only kill weeds but also break up soil scab, improve root aeration and help conserve moisture during dry periods.

These operations have a direct impact on plant vigour. The roots have access to more oxygen and water, allowing them to better overcome stress conditions during growth. At the same time, water loss through evaporation is reduced – and the dependence on chemical protection is significantly reduced, which has a positive impact on costs and the environment.

Each crop row is different. Sometimes the crop is low, sometimes dense, sometimes it is worked after rain, sometimes in drought. ROW-MASTER is prepared for all these conditions. Thanks to the variable working sections, it can react to the current field condition and plant growth phase. The robust frame, together with the maintenance-free placement of the working tools, ensures a long service life even in demanding conditions.

The machine is available in various widths and designs, including the RN_S model specialised for sugar beet. Sugar beet in particular, with its low initial growth, places particular demands on the precise guidance of the cultivator – and this is where the ROW-MASTER equipped with the CultiCam system comes into its own.

The CultiCam self-guiding camera system is literally the eyes of the machine. It monitors the crop rows and allows precise machine guidance even at very early stages of the vegetation – for example, when the sugar beet has two true leaves. On the ROW-MASTER RN_PROFI, the guidance system includes a sectional control of each cultivation unit. Based on data from the guidance system, the individual working tools are automatically raised and lowered exactly as required. This intelligent system eliminates the risk of weeds and greatly simplifies the work of the operator, who can concentrate more on machine performance than on manual corrections. Thanks to the precise control of each unit, the ROW-MASTER RN_PROFI can work efficiently even in poor conditions – in the dark, in fog or during long working days. With a stroke height of up to 45 centimetres, sufficient space is provided for safe manoeuvring and precise work even in denser vegetation. The result is higher productivity, lower error rates and maximum use of each hectare’s potential.

• Shares are ideal for undercutting weeds on loose and wet soil – they work with a wider working width, effectively breaking up the top layer and mechanically destroying weeds. However, on hard, dry soil, depth holding can be a problem and their loosening efficiency is reduced.
• Points are suitable for deeper loosening, breaking the soil crust between the rows and applying fertiliser. Although they are not as effective at cutting weeds in the field, they have advantage in processing of variable type of soil.
