We Needed a Stubble Cultivator with a High Throughput

The Čáslavice Cooperative manages 1,170 ha of arable land, and in addition to standard plant production, they breed the Czech Fleckvieh cattle and run their own biogas station.

BEDNAR ATLAS AO_PROFI in Čáslavice is equipped with a double rear U-RING packer

The working depth of 6 cm is sufficient for the initial stubble breaking and fast emergence of unwanted seeds

We went to Čáslavice to see and ask about the experience with using the new ATLAS AO 6000 PROFI disc cultivator purchased last year. “We used to have the shaft disc cultivator by STROM EXPORT. As the time came for renewal, we started looking for a new heavy disc cultivator and tried machines from several foreign manufacturers. In the end, based on testing, properties and labour quality, we decided to purchase the BEDNAR ATLAS AO_PROFI machine,” says Mr. Radek Němec, the Machine Mechanic.

Machine Mechanic Confirms the Main Advantages

The Čáslavice Cooperative operates extensive animal production, as well as their own biogas station. As a result, they have plenty of organic matter in the form of manure, liquid manure or digestate. They needed a heavy disc cultivator, large wheel diameter and high throughput. “We also tried the SWIFTERDISC XO_F cultivator, but ATLAS AO_PROFI is more suitable for our conditions and use. What I especially like about this machine is the X-shaped disc section arrangement that prevents drifting of the machine, and the integrated axle, thanks to which the machine does not sway, and overall terrain tracing,” the machine mechanic adds.

The front double support wheels contribute to perfect tracing of terrain unevenness

They purchased the 6-metre-wide version of ATLAS AO_PROFI in Čáslavice. The machine equipment includes double front support wheels, a leveller in front of the rear packer, and a double rear U-RING packer. All the machine settings are done using hydraulics from the tractor cabin.

The ATLAS AO_PROFI disc cultivator is aggregated with a FENDT 939 tractor with horsepower of 390, the average consumption of the set is 4.5 l/ha

The large distance between the front and rear sections (145 cm) and between the rear section and the packer (155 cm) is a great advantage in processing large quantities of crop residue

High Output with Low Consumption

We found the disc cultivator doing the initial stubble breaking after the harvest of barley, which they grew on an area of 90 hectares this year. The set was working on a steep slope, which showed how well the X-shaped disc section arrangement works, keeping the disc cultivator in the tractor tracks. The set worked at a speed of 13.5 km/h, with 1,550 RPM and average consumption of 4.5 l/ha, the working depth was set at 6 cm.
