The SWIFTER SO_F cultivator line is available in working widths from 4 to 8 metres and a total of five models. They are popular with customers namely thanks to their high robustness, a hydraulic drawbar included in the standard equipment, and a modular system that allows choosing from various alternatives for the individual working parts of the machine.
“We purchase machines with a high width due to the lack of workforce,” says Miroslav Diblík, an agronomist from ZOD Agro Dlouhá Loučka, where they acquired the SWIFTER SO 8000 F cultivator with a width of 8 metres in 2020. ZOD Agro Dlouhá Loučka is a joint-stock company that manages an area of 1,305 hectares. It is a standard farming business with both plant and animal production; they breed the Holstein Friesian cattle and bulls for fattening.

The company chose the time-tested model line of SWIFTER SO_F with a width of 8 metres
“In the plant production, we grow marketable crops, such as malting barley, common wheat, sugar beet and winter rapeseed. We also grow winter wheat and spring barley for seeds for seeding companies. We grow roughage, such as silage, maize and alfalfa, for animal production. The soil on our property differs, from sandy to heavy clayey soil,” Mr. Diblík explains.
The management of ZOD Agro Dlouhá Loučka decided to purchase a cultivator by BEDNAR after seeing a demonstration of the machine. They needed to replace an older machine with a smaller working width. They had already rented a cultivator with the same configuration and width. “The cultivator did quality work, we liked it and so we decided to keep one for good. Soil preparation is important to me as it provides good emergence and crop quality. The cultivator levels the field well and prepares the seedbed,” the company’s agronomist says.
Mr. Zdeněk Horák, the machine operator, especially appreciates the simplicity with low maintenance demands

“The cultivator works very well. As far as operation is concerned, I especially appreciate the simplicity with minimal requirements for machine maintenance, and the high daily output,” Zdeněk Horák adds. We saw the SWIFTER cultivator in aggregation with a new tractor, John Deere 7R 330. In combination with this tractor, the set worked at a speed of 11.5 km/h at 1850 RPM. The average consumption was 5.7 l/ha, with an output of 7.8 ha/h.
When visiting our customers, we also stopped by at Morava Pustiměř and asked Mr. František Šarközi, a machine operator, about his experience with the six-metre-wide BEDNAR SWIFTER SO 6000 F.
