Stubble Cultivation Is Here

The beginning of harvest is also the time of stubble cultivation and thus of SWIFTERDISC. Stubble cultivation is an essential operation in successful agro-technology of soil before establishing a new crop.

  • Save soil moisture, i.e. interrupt capillary action of water and prevent deep drying of soil
  • Cut and incorporate crop residue as much as possible
  • Destroy weeds and allow second growth of the crop and germination of the weed seeds
  • Balance the moisture ratios in the soil, i.e. facilitate the absorption of precipitation from summer storms and prevent its drainage from the field
  • Provide access of air in soil and promote aerobic microflora in soil
  • Aggressive discs – a unrivalled advantage in stubble cultivation

In summer temperatures, 2 to 3mm of water evaporates from 1 square meter of stubble field in a day, i.e. 25mm of water evaporates on average in ten days, often without rain. Therefore, whether or not stubble cultivation is done can have a significant effect on the successful development and growth of the following crop, such as rapeseed. Stubble cultivation is done to the depth of 7 – 12cm and the SWIFTERDISC cultivator with a width from 3m to 14m is an ideal machine for stubble tillage. Any farmer can find a width he needs to do a quality, fast and cheap stubble cultivation. Swifterdisc is designed for high working speed, up to 15 km/h, thanks to which it provides a high daily output and perfectly levels fields. Swifterdisc is equipped with aggressive discs that has edges for perfect cutting of crop residue. It also provides a mixing effect and better incorporation of crop residue thanks to the profiling on the side of the disc. The disc sections throw more soil during rotation, which is heavier than crop residue and thus flies higher and subsequently covers crop residue. The field is thus browner after a machine equipped with aggressive discs than after a machine with regular discs.
