INTRODUCING THE SECTION
In agriculture, rollers and packers are essential tools that have been used since the beginning of farming. They play a crucial role in establishing crops and are integral components of most cultivators. Rollers and packers come in different types to suit various soil conditions and serve different purposes, especially terrain consolidation. For this reason, BEDNAR developed GALAXY GE, a versatile robust roller designed for trouble-free use and excellent longevity of life.
ROLLERS FOR TERRAIN CONSOLIDATION
Since birth of agriculture rollers have been used to firm the ground before or after seeding. The use of rollers provides numerous benefits to farmers seeking optimal soil conditions for their next crop. By consolidating the soil, rollers help retaining moisture, crumble clods and prepare a fine seedbed. With rocks being pushed back in the soil, the rollers also create a smooth and obstacle-free field surface that makes subsequent operations easier.
ROLLERS AFTER SEEDING
After seeding, rollers are also appreciated when it comes to reconsolidating the soil surface opened by the seed drill coulter to provide a better soil-to-seed contact. This improved contact enables the seed to access more nutrients and moisture during germination.
SOIL PREPARATION AND COVER CROP SEEDING
In comparison to its competitors, the GALAXY GE trailed roller stands out for its enhanced versatility thanks to a broad variety of optional equipment. Apart from performing the main task of a roller, the GALAXY GE can also undertake field preparation by engaging its Crushbar front levelling bar. This optional equipment enables the machine to break plough furrows or to prepare a seedbed in fields tilled by other means. Additionally, the GALAXY GE can be equipped with the ALFA DRILL seeding unit ideal for catch crop seeding or applying microgranular fertiliser before or after seeding.
Principali vantaggi del rullo trainato
Il rullo trainato è dotato di anelli in acciaio di qualità che presentano minimi segni di usura e possono lavorare anche in condizioni rocciose a lungo termine. Gli alberi delle singole sezioni sono dotati di una molla che esercita una pressione continua sui singoli anelli per evitare l’allentamento. Il rullo può lavorare per molti ettari senza bisogno di manutenzione, che di solito è necessaria per spingere gli anelli nella posizione originale.
