The KATOR KN_L is our first range of rotary harrows, available in working widths from 3 to 5 meters. With a rotor spacing of only 22.5 cm, it offers superior clod-crumbling and precise soil preparation for optimal crop establishment. This machine offers the best combination of reliability, efficiency, and lightweight construction for easy use and quality soil preparation.

The KATOR KN represents our mid-range offering. This machine is available from 3 to 6 meters working width and fits with BEDNAR standards: a design focused on robustness, a high number of rotors per meter for quality soil cultivation and smart options to adjust the machine to customer requirements (QUICK-CHANGE system, hydraulic settings). The KATOR KN is equipped with a robust gearbox, able to resist to intense use, potatoes seedbed preparation or heavy soils.

The KATOR KN_PROFI represents the top-range provided by BEDNAR. This range offers machines from 6 to 8 meters working width and no compromise: sturdy gearbox, external oil-cooling system, highly robust frame and quality rock protection for trouble free use in the most intensive conditions The 22.5 cm rotor spacing offers quality crumbling and the wide range of options available (QUICK-CHANGE system, transport axle) provides a professional-grade machine tailored for farmers with high standards.

ROBUST GEARBOX

For perfect power transmission.

The central shaft is the main part of the rotary harrow and the most used component. The connection between the special solid crown with an elongated case and a reduced central shaft (75 mm) provides for a perfect transfer of force between the gearbox and the cascade of gearwheels.

ONE ROTOR, THREE BEARINGS

A design that no-one else offers.

Each rotor is equipped with three bearings (the shaft is mostly surrounded by bearings). This system provides for perfect rotor stability and protects gearwheels, shafts and gaskets from damage. No other competitor offers three bearings per rotor.

QUICK BLADE REPLACEMENT

Easy replacement without the need for special tools.

A quick and easy blade replacement. Just pull out the safety pin, remove the pin and replace the blade. It is a system designed to be used without any special tools and equipment.

PROTECTION AGAINST STONES

Avoid rotor damage.

The special “STONE” equipment prevents stones from penetrating or sticking between the blades holder flange and the rotor. The bearing holder and cover are made from one part. The cover is screwed to the machine frame and the shaft turns inside the cover. This way, no foreign objects that could damage the gasket or bearing can enter the rotor area.

A LARGE NUMBER OF ROTORS PER METRE OF WORKING WIDTH

Perfectly cultivated soil.

The folding arrangement of the BEDNAR KATOR rotary harrow offers only 22.5 cm between rotors. A larger number of rotors per metre of the working width improves soil crumbling.

LEVELLING BAR

Prevents clogging and creating waves.

The rear levelling bar is very close to the rotors. This design is better for higher quality of soil levelling (a greater distance between the rotor and the rear levelling bar creates waves).

HIGHLY ROBUST FRAME

Stronger than in any other competing machine.

The bottom part of the main frame of the gearbox cascade of gearwheels is made of steel with a thickness of 12 mm. The main gearbox is not filled with oil but with a highly viscose grease that ensures reliable lubrication of the gearwheels. Also, the risk of oil leak into soil is eliminated in case of tub damage, such as puncture.

We recommend choosing the LONG-LIFE blades with carbide tips for higher resistance when used in abrasive soils.

Rollers and packers

Trapeze roller

The trapeze roller is for precise and fine soil crumbling, an ideal roller for light to medium-heavy soils. The roller includes scrapers. Roller diameter 500 mm. Weight 125 kg/m.

Packer roller

A packer roller with excellent crumbling effect suitable for heavy soils. The roller includes scrapers. Roller diameter 550 mm. Weight 110 kg/m.

Tubular packer

The cage packer is made of large steel rods with a good crumbling effect. Packer diameter 540 mm. Weight 65 kg/m.

SEEDBED CULTIVATION
Soil preparation is an important operation for the formation of a uniform and balanced seedbed prior to crop establishment. Each crop and field requires different soil preparation based on the climate, or the chosen date of cultivation. The aim of the seedbed cultivation is to create an ideal soil structure in the field, with a harder bottom and loose top soil layer, to level the field after previous operations, and to open, warm up and aerate the soil profile for even crop emergence.
