The farmer Thomase Siercka cultivates app. 400ha. of land around the village of Mulsum which can be found in between Bremerhavenenm and Cuxhavenem and it’s not too far away from the north sea. There are different types of soil in the region, ranging from very light and sandy soils up to heavy soils with high moisture content. Mr.Siercka concentrates his efforts on maize and winter wheat production which is used to work within a minimum tillage system. Over recent years the farmer had noticed that fields are suffering from the over consolidation of different field operations that are creating barriers to roots, water, air and nutrients. This was the main reason why the farm decided to purchase a new chisel plough, the Terraland Profi.

THE MAIN GOAL OF THE TERRALAND PROFI IS TO DESTROY THE PAN AND CREATE A SEEDBED

The farm started to use STROM-BEDNAR’s Terraland TN 3000 Profi chisel plough for all its fields, loosening soil deeply. Before using the Terraland Profi slurry manure is applied, the machine then loosens the soil in one pass and covers the slurry manure due to its high mixing effect. The result is the elimination of soil pans, the covering of slurry manure and the creation of a seedbed with the rear cutter disc section. All of these actions are done in just one pass.
