At the place where the seeds are drilled, it is necessary to create an environment that promotes rapid crop emergence. Strip tillage ensures sufficient air supply, which contributes to faster soil warming and more dynamic germination. The result is faster development of germinating plants and more uniform emergence. At the same time, optimal loosening and reliable consolidation stabilise the seed bed so that it has a suitable structure for seed-soil contact and subsequent water uptake.

Strip tillage promotes rapid infiltration of rainwater into the future root zone. Water stored deeper is less lost through evaporation at the beginning of vegetation, which is especially important in periods of irregular rainfall. At the same time, the soil structure in the untilled zone remains stable. Capillarity is preserved, and with it the ability of water to rise from the lower layers, which the vegetation will use in later stages of growth.

Repeated passes by machinery are one of the main causes of soil compaction and gradual soil deterioration. If tillage, fertiliser placement and seeding are carried out in several separate operations, not only does the consumption of time and fuel increase, but so does the risk of soil damage.
