ATLAS AE_L: a new machine among BEDNAR compact disc harrows

BEDNAR launches a new model of compact disc harrow called ATLAS AE_L. As the name suggests, it is a compact disc harrow with a large disc diameter of 620 mm. However, the ATLAS AE_L compact disc harrow takes on a number of technical features that used to be the preserve of the SWIFTERDISC model series.

Two side folding frames - proven design since 2008

The ATLAS AE 12400 L wide compact disc harrow retains the concept that is typical of the “E” models. It is a main frame with a forward transport axle and two side folding frames. The advantage is the quick folding into transport position, not exceeding the permitted transport width (3 m) and machine height (4 m). The design of the machine reduces the number of hydraulic cylinders where pressure could be lost on the side frames (also contributing to the low number of lubrication points).

TWIN-DISC and X-PRECISE - always on the right track

The disc section is equipped with 620 mm diameter discs with a thickness of 6 mm. The main novelty for the ATLAS AE_L model is the method of mounting the discs, which is designed with the TWIN-DISC system (one arm, two discs). The TWIN-DISC system contributes to double the space for protection the rubber segments than in the case of a single disc mount on a single tine. The technical solution significantly increases the machine throughput when processing large quantities of post-harvest residues.

ATLAS AE_L models have disc sections arranged in an “X” shape. The centre section of the disc section is fitted with a single disc. This innovative technical solution eliminates lateral movement of the machine, so-called drifting, even when working on slopes or hilly terrain.

Turning on the headland - fast and without lightening the tractor

Only the disc section is excavated when turning on the headland and the machine is supported by transport wheels, support wheels and rear packers. This solution eliminates the negative load on the hitch and the tractor’s lightness in the machine’s overrun position and contributes significantly to the acceleration of the overrun.

New design solution - for the perfect flatness

An interesting technical solution is the insertion section in the centre of the machine in front of the rear packers and the asymmetrical arrangement of the rear packers. The levelling section in the centre section of the machine consolidates the surface and prevents the formation of a central ridge. The asymmetrical design of the rear packer levels the surface in the centre section of the machine to a very high degree. Different designs of rear single row packers are available, which are always fitted with scrapers.

Hydraulic working depth adjustment - basic equipment

Adjusting the working depth of the machine is very easy. The ATLAS AE_L is equipped with hydraulic working depth adjustment as standard, which is set by inserting the required number of integrated hydroclips on the rear packers, support wheels and transport axle.

Thanks to its large disc diameter, the ATLAS AE_L compact disc harrow is particularly suitable for incorporating and mixing post-harvest residues from sunflower, maize or winter rape.
