DIRECT SEEDING

Discover the agronomic advantages.

The direct drilling technology completely differs from the traditional crop establishment methods. Direct drilling does not guarantee increased yields, but it can help you fight soil erosion and deterioration. The considerable reduction in the number of passes reduces soil hardening and avoids disrupting the soil capillary action. The soil cover of the field guarantees minimum moisture evaporation. The root system helps recover the soil structure.

DIRECT STAR

Patented seed coulter for direct drilling.

The DIRECT STAR single disc seed coulter has been developed over several years to be able to work at 100 % in almost all seeding conditions directly in stubble, catch crops as well as in cultivated soil. Row spacing 25 cm. The high pressure of 300 kg on the seed coulter guarantees correct seed placement even in heavy soils. The minimum seeding depth is 1 cm.

COULTER FOR FERTILISER PLACEMENT

Unique equipment of the DIRECTO NE.

For the DIRECTO NE seed drill, we have designed a unique fertiliser coulter that places the fertiliser “under the seed” and slightly to the side. The fertiliser placement depth can be adjusted from 3.5 to 10.5 cm. The fertiliser coulters are mounted on a beam. The fertiliser placement depth of the fertiliser coulters is set centrally – there is no need to adjust each coulter individually.

INCREASE THE YIELD POTENTIAL

With the fertiliser coulter.

The fertiliser coulter places the fertiliser deeper and slightly to the side. This fertilizer deposited by zone ensures plant nutrition in the later stages of growth and supports targeted root development in the lower layers of the topsoil, thus eliminating stress factors, especially a lack of water. Zonal application improves the development of crops especially in autumn and helps the plants to overwinter better.

1. The seed is placed in the row together with the fertiliser; the mixing of the seed with the fertiliser takes place in the pipe.
2. Sowing of two types of seeds; seed mixing takes place in the pipeline.
3. Sowing one type of seed (both chambers are filled with one type of seed).

*with the option of switching off 1/4 of the machine’s working width in the case of a machine configuration without fertilizing coulters.

1.The seed is placed in the row using a seeding coulter, and the fertiliser is placed under the seed and slightly to the side using a fertilizer coulter.
2. Seed A is placed in the row using a seeding coulter, seed B is placed at a greater depth below the seed and slightly to the side using a fertilizer coulter.

PRESS WHEEL

Smooth or toothed with sophisticated adjustment.

The DIRECTO Ne seed drill can be equipped with these types of press wheels – smooth rubber wheel (farmflex), smooth cast iron wheel, toothed cast iron wheel, toothed rubberized wheel. The robust frame of the press wheel keeps the direction straight. The press wheel pressure can be adjusted mechanically to close the seed row back, and the angular position of the wheel can be changed (multiple positions – angles). The rear wheel pressure is adjusted on the scale of each seed coulter. The pressure is created by a tensioned spring. The spring does not release from the holder.

PRESSURIZED TANK DESIGN

The BEDNAR uses a pressurised hopper design for all its seed drills. Overpressure is created in the hopper thanks to the airtight closure. This technical design allows the dosing of large seeding amounts with high precision independent of the seed/fertiliser granule size. DIRECTO NE is equipped with a dual chamber pressurised hopper with a total capacity of 6,000 litres.

FAST, SAFE AND EASY

Hopper filling.

The fast and comfortable filling of the DIRECTO NE seed drill hopper has an easily accessible and wide platform with railing and steps. To fill the hopper, the steel lid swings out 90°. The hopper filling level is indicated by two sensors. One is installed higher and its angle is adjustable, the other one is installed in the lower third of the hopper.

FOUR DISTRIBUTION HEADS

Even high-quantity application.

DIRECTO NE is equipped with four distribution heads for even distribution of seed / fertiliser to the individual drill coulters and for the ability to apply high doses of fertiliser and seeds. That ensures the same distance to all drill coulters from the distribution head. This solution also offers a sectional control for every three metres of the working width.

SEED FLOW SENSORS

Keep track of the throughput of each drill coulter.

The seed drill can be equipped with seed flow sensors on request. The device ensures that if a drill coulter gets clogged, the information is displayed on the screen. That guarantees maximum seeding precision.

INTUITIVE AND CLEAR CONTROL

Ease of use is a priority for today’s operators. DIRECTO NE is equipped with the new BEDNAR EASY CONTROL software, which guarantees easy and clear operation. The software offers clear, easy and intuitive control of the seed drill. If the seed drill is equipped with a third hopper, this hopper control is fully integrated into one system (no additional monitor required).

COMFORTABLE CALIBRATION

With the FARM LINK mobile application.

BEDNAR developers designed an application for mobile phones that provides easy and simple calibration of the seed drill from your mobile phone. The mobile application includes a guide that helps with the right selection of the seeding roller based on the type of seeds/fertiliser, working speed and seeding amount.

FLOTATION TYRES

They leave no tracks.

The DIRECTO NE seed drill is equipped with large flotation tyres measuring 650/65 R30.5 FL. The large tyres reduce soil compaction and eliminate rutting when establishing crops on land with high moisture. The seed drill does not exceed a transport width of 3 m.

SAFE TRANSPORT

Even though the DIRECTO NE seed drill has a working width of 12 metres, its transport on roads is easy and safe. The side frames of the seed drill fold forward and the transport length is only 7.8 metres. The wide positioning of the transport wheels provides a good stability, even at higher speed. The compact dimensions also contribute to easier and faster turning at headland.

Hydraulic parking jack

DIRECTO NE is equipped with a hydraulic parking jack for easy “parking” of the seed drill.

Double-chamber, pressurised hopper

The pressurised hopper can contain large volumes of seed and improves the precision of seeding. The hopper is divided in the ratio of 60:40. Total volume is 6000 l.

Double front wheels

Support wheels with mechanical adjustment serve to stabilize the seed drill. The seed drill operates on a level surface and the set working depth is maintained.

4 distribution heads

The 4 distribution heads ensure even distribution of seed/fertiliser to individual coulters. The heads allow section control for every 3 meters of width.

Fertiliser coulters

The fertiliser coulter places the fertiliser “under the seed” and slightly to the side. The working depth of the fertiliser coulters is adjusted centrally – there is no need to adjust each coulter individually.

Single disc seed coulters

The patented drill coulters with a high down pressure of 300 kg/drill coulter guarantee quality and even placement of seeds in the soil, even in difficult conditions.

Flotation tyres

Large flotation tyres reduce ground pressure and do not create ruts. Tyre size 650/65 R30.5 FL.

DIRECTO NE is equipped with a two-chamber pressurized tank with a total volume of 6000 l. This technical solution allows for the dosing of large doses with high accuracy, regardless of the size of the seed/fertiliser.

DIRECT SEEDING AS A CURRENT TREND
Direct seeding into soil that has not been cultivated beforehand is a current trend in establishing both main crop and catch crop. Direct seeding is a response to the ongoing increase in drought and water scarcity. The advantage of direct seeding lies in the elimination of soil moisture evaporation, reducing the risk of erosion, soil overheating, and weed growth. It increases the organic matter volume in the soil and significantly saves time and costs required for crop seeding.
