GIRONA GN: A new dimension of seeding in challenging conditions

Modern agriculture places increasingly high demands on machinery – more crop residues, drier conditions, moisture-sensitive areas, heavier soils, and a greater presence of stones. This is why the GIRONA GN was designed – a universal tine seeding bar that effortlessly handles even the toughest field conditions. Whether establishing crops on lighter soils, in mulch, or on heavy, stony fields, GIRONA GN is a reliable helper for every progressive farmer.

The base of the GIRONA GN seeding bar is the tine coulter equipped with a durable LONG-LIFE point measuring 20 × 200 mm. This allows it to handle large amounts of crop residues and stony conditions with ease. Compared to disc coulters, the tine solution offers better residue flow and minimum moving parts, which translates into higher reliability and durability.

One of the great advantages of the GIRONA GN seeding bar is its universal frame, allowing for easy interchange between tine and disc sections during the season depending on soil conditions. Thanks to the use of a parallel linkage on the tine coulters, uniform and precise seed placement is ensured across the entire working width, even under heavy and stony conditions. Operator comfort is enhanced by hydraulic adjustment, allowing easy setting of front equipment, down pressure, and seeding depth directly from the tractor cabin.

The GIRONA GN seeding bar can optionally be fitted with front working tools that contribute to perfect seedbed preparation. Options include sharp TURBO coulters, crumbling PROFI coulters, a CRUSHBAR leveling bar for smoothing field irregularities, or a FRONTPACK rubber packer for soil reconsolidation ahead of the drill coulters.

The flexibility of the GIRONA GN seeding bar is further demonstrated by its range of row spacings – 16.7 cm, 25 cm, 33 cm, and 37.5 cm. Row spacings of 16.7 to 25 cm are ideal for cereal crop establishment, with 25 cm allowing for subsequent row cultivation. Wider spacings of 33 to 37.5 cm are recommended for legumes and oilseeds, improving soil aeration and maximizing the soil’s potential.

The GIRONA GN is ready for all types of aggregation. It is ideally suited for use with the BEDNAR MATADOR MO strip-till seed drill but can also be combined with versatile front hoppers like SEED BOX SB, FERTI-BOX FB_F, or trailed air-carts like FERTI-CART FC and COMBO SYSTEM CS. This opens up new possibilities for efficient crop establishment and combined seed-fertiliser application in a single pass.
