Experience with the TERRALAND TN_PROFI chisel plough at ROLANA s.r.o.

“Our company grows standard crops such as winter wheat, malting barley, winter oilseed rape, soybeans, corn and sugar beet. Our average yield for winter wheat is around 7 t/ha, for soybeans 2.6 t/ha. We farm a very wide range of soils – from sand to clay. Our crop production utilises precision farming systems, and we are part of the Pro Barley project for the sustainable production of malting barley,” says Ing. Tomáš Sojka, agronomist at ROLANA.

The TERRALAND TN 3000 HD7R PROFI chisel plough has been used at ROLANA since the spring of 2023. We asked Tomáš Vítek, head of mechanisation, why the company decided to buy this machine.

“We had been using a competitor’s machine before we bought the BEDNAR chisel plough. In this case, it was a generational change. We chose the TERRALAND TN_PROFI mainly because of the hydraulic securing, which suited our conditions and which the previous machine did not have. I also like the double-row cutter disc section, something no other manufacturer offers. This is highly valuable feature, and the quality of the machine’s work especially stands out on heavy soils. We use the BEDNAR chisel plough for soil tillage before seeding spring or corn crops, and for soil tillage after sugar beet crops. The average working depth ranges from 35 to 40 cm, and we use the machine with an 8R or 8RX tractor. In our conditions, we achieve an average output of 3.5 ha/hr and consumption of 22 l/ha,” explained Tomáš Vítek, head of mechanisation, summarizing the company’s experience with the TERRALAND TN_PROFI machine.

The great competitive advantage of the TERRALAND TN_PROFI is the double-row cutter disc section. It offers an excellent crumbling effect mainly when processing very heavy soils, and on lighter soils, this machine can prepare an excellent seedbed in just a single pass, saving both time and money.
