BEDNAR FMT, Commences Construction of a New Two-storey Assembly Hall

BEDNAR FMT turns plans into reality. The company helps create the trends in modern agriculture. It manufactures agricultural machines for the whole world and is growing continuously. The current capacity of 1,500 machines will increase by at least 30% within the next two years, thanks to the new two-storey production hall, the construction of which started at the turn of 2018/2019. The completion and expansion of production are expected in autumn 2019. Find more in the report below.

Who is BEDNAR FMT?

A progressive manufacturer of agricultural technology that specialises in machines for soil cultivation, seeding, fertilisation and mulching. The close connection of the company with agricultural practice makes BEDNAR FMT one of the most innovative manufacturers of agricultural machines, developing and producing machines with high added value for the end users. At present, the company employs 250 people and exports its products to 35 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America, and Africa.

Continuous growth

BEDNAR FMT was founded by Mr. Ladislav Bednář and his partners in 1997. At the beginning, they were involved in exporting Czech agricultural machinery abroad. The first turning point happened in 1999 when the company came up with its disk cultivator, DOWLANDS. The year 2006 saw another important milestone: the company purchased the first property for the future production plant in Rychnovnad Kněžnou. Two years later, the first new production hall was built. In 2011, the company invested in the reconstruction of the office building and a year later, the hall for the powder paint shop, assembly and storage halls were built. The company continued to expand the production premises in 2017 when a canvas warehouse was built. The company is now planning the largest production plant expansion so far. In December 2018, the new two-storey production hall with a total area of usable floor space of 12,268 m2commenced. It will be completed in autumn 2019.

Main reasons for production expansion

There is a huge interest in BEDNAR machines among farmers all over the world. The growing global demand for quality Czech farming machines by BEDNAR FMT exceeds the current production capacity. It is the main reason for the company to radically increase its production capacities.

New two-storey production hall

On 13 December 2018, BEDNAR FMT obtained the building permit for the construction of the two-storey production hall on its production premises in Rychnovnad  Kněžnou, effective as of Friday 14 December 2018. The new hall will be built on an area of 5,910 m2next to the current production hall, to which it will be connected, thus providing for easy and well-arranged handling of the individual units of the machines “under one roof”. The new hall will be fully automated and the entire production process will be built on the basis of lines commonly used in the automotive industry.
