GALAXY GE: BEDNAR expands its range with the arrival of a 12.3m version of its Cambridge roller

The new GALAXY GE 12300 is a 12.3metre version of the Cambridge roller from BEDNAR. Also with a view to producing reliable machines, BEDNAR has revised the chassis to strengthen it and make it suitable for supporting the five sections of the roller. One of the main advantages of this frame is its compatibility with a CRUSHBAR levelling bar or seeding unit. In addition, its weight of almost 10 tons makes it possible to press the ground even more and increase the clod breaking effect of the roller.

As with the other rollers in the range, the cast iron segments are mounted alternately: a smooth segment (diameter 500 mm) followed by a toothed segment (diameter 530 mm). Their durability is ensured by an ingenious device specific to the GALAXY GE: a compression spring mounted at the end of the shaft exerts constant pressure on all the segments, thus limiting the appearance of play in the system.

The design of the new GALAXY GE 12300 allows it to perfectly follow the variations of the terrain over its entire width. Indeed, each of the five sections is connected to the chassis with mountings that leave the rollers free to move. BEDNAR is also renewing its hydraulic system that ensures that the weight of the machine is evenly distributed over all sections, which is of course standard equipment.

The GALAXY GE is wider but retains one of its most popular options: the CRUSHBAR. This option considerably increases the versatility of the tool, allowing light tillage, useful in particular for levelling ploughing or maintaining meadows. Its hydraulic adjustment makes it extremely easy to use since the operation can be carried out from the in-cab control.

To increase throughput when sowing cover crops or meadows, the GALAXY GE 12300 becomes a great ally when equipped with the ALFA DRILL 800 option. Finally, as with the rest of the range, BEDNAR offers optional hydraulic track eradicators for even more precise work.

The handling of the machine on the road is also a key feature for BEDNAR. For this reason, the machine is equipped with large pneumatic tyres in 500/50-17 as standard. These offer great stability to the roller, which can be optionally equipped with hydraulic or pneumatic braking.
