The Farming Simulator League Has Started in Harsewinkel, Germany!

GIANT SOFTWARE has started fourteen tournaments in the Farming Simulator League in the CLAAS production plant in Harsewinkel, Germany. Twenty-six teams took part in the first tournament and our teams were there! What was the tournament like? How did our players do? Learn more in this short report.

Why Harsenwinkel and the CLAAS production plant?

The Farming Simulator PC game is continuously being developed and GIANT SOFTWARE organises an annual event called FarmCon for its fans. This year, it took place on 27th and 28th July and in addition to the presentations by developers and partners, GIANT also presented the latest news and novelties in the game. The most important is definitely the incorporation of the CLAAS tractors and machines that will appear in the Platinum Edition of the game on 22nd October 2019.

What was the first tournament of the Farming Simulator League like?

Qualifications took place on the first day. There were twenty-six teams in the first round that competed in 13 fifteen-minute-long games. The winners and one defeated team with the highest score advanced to the second round.

The second round took place immediately after the first one. Fourteen teams played and the winners and one defeated team with the highest score advanced to the quarterfinals. This system motivated all teams to get as many points as possible in the game, thanks to which they could advance even if they lost.

On the second day, Sunday 28th July, in the afternoon, the quarterfinals, the semi-finals and the finals took place. Seven of the best teams and the defeated team with the highest score from the second qualification round participated in the quarterfinals.Then, the quarterfinals winners took part in the semi-finals and the finals of the first ever Farming Simulator League tournament. There were two duels in the finals. The winner received € 2,000 and valuable prizes.

How did the BEDNAR teams do?

The players in both teams were maximally prepared and focused. In the first match, the FMT team played against Grimme. The match was watched by a lot of people and it took a quick turn, The Grimmeteam managed to do everything they planned and did not give the FMT team the slightest of chances.

In the afternoon, it was the BEDNAR team’s turn. They played against SDL Gaming. At first, the BEDNAR team seemed to be doing better but everything changed in the last five minutes. SDL Gaming showed their strategy and power. The BEDNAR team was defeated and had to wait to see whether or not they got enough points to advance to the second round. However, that did not happen and both BEDNAR teams had to leave the Farming Simulator League tournament after the first round.

Second Farming Simulator League Tournament

The second tournament will be on-line. It will take place on 10th and 11th August 2019 and the players will play in the comfort of their homes. The third tournament will take place in Germany again, this time in Koln, on 20th – 24th August 2019, followed by tournaments in Switzerland, Poland and France.
