TILLCUT TE

Mechanical processing of crop residues. Fast, gentle and with minimal fuel consumption.

Crop residues under control

The TILLCUT TE cutting rollers offer a fast, low-cost and environmentally friendly solution for the mechanical processing of crop residues, catch crops and soil.

The machine cuts the plant material, spreads it evenly across the surface and very shallowly disturbs the topsoil in the direction of vertical tillage. The result is faster biomass decomposition, improved moisture retention, protection against erosion and conditions for uniform volunteer crop emergence.

TILLCUT TE in the field

Four reasons to choose TILLCUT TE

The machine loosens only the top layer of soil and preserves the porous system. The result is reliable water retention, reduced erosion and excellent conditions for seed germination. The blade arrangement ensures good crumbling without the formation of clods.

The cutting blades roll down standing plant residues in the direction of travel and then cut or break them. The material is evenly spread across the field and partially worked into the topsoil — which accelerates decomposition and releases nutrients back into the soil.

In the case of catch crops and weeds, the stems are snapped and the plants are subsequently cut up. This limits regrowth and simplifies subsequent operations. It saves on the cost of chemicals.

Working speed of up to 25 km/h with an approximate consumption of ~3 l/ha. Each roller independently contours the terrain for a uniform result across the entire working width. The working speed also ensures the rollers self-clean.

For which crops is the machine intended

The TILLCUT TE is suitable for use where the soil provides firm support against the blades and the plant material is not excessively wet. Suitable for conventional, minimisation, no-till and regenerative systems.

Cutting residues, breaking stalks and evenly distributing biomass. Mechanically reduces conditions for the overwintering of the European corn borer.

Shreds stalk residues, releases volunteer seeds from the straw and deposits them in the topsoil. Promotes rapid and even emergence in a single wave.

Flattening and cutting thicker stalks, reducing the volume of crop residues. This facilitates subsequent operations and reduces the risk of machine blockages.

It flattens, cuts and limits the regrowth of vegetation. Suitable for preparing dead plant cover before seeding — the biomass remains on the surface as mulch.

Six benefits for the soil

TILLCUT TE meets the principles of vertical tillage — minimal soil disturbance with maximum agronomic and ecological benefits.

01

Moisture retention

Very shallow vertical tillage and even distribution of residues reduce evaporation. The mulch shades the soil and prevents the surface from overheating.

02

Erosion control measure

Residue on the surface dampens the kinetic energy of raindrops and reduces wind erosion. The risk of surface runoff is reduced.

03

Soil structure protection

Minimal horizontal disturbance of the soil profile. Capillarity, porosity and stability of the soil structure are preserved.

04

Less use of chemicals

Mechanical weed control, reduced regrowth of catch crops and promotion of volunteer plant emergence. Replaces part of chemical treatment.

05

Soil organisms

Mulch creates a more favourable microclimate, moderates temperature fluctuations and promotes microbial decomposition of biomass and the release of nutrients.

06

Regenerative farming

Suitable for farms with catch crops, bio-strips, fallow land and a higher proportion of crop residues on the surface. Fits into soil conservation systems.

Two sizes for every farm

A smooth roller for rolling after seeding and maintaining permanent grassland, or a cutting roller for tough crop residues. Both can be filled with water to increase downforce.

Suitable conditions & limitations

Let’s be open about when the machine works best — and when you need to adjust the settings or choose a different time.

When does the TILLCUT TE work best?

Where the soil surface provides firm support against the roller blades and the plant material is not excessively wet. The technology works well in conventional, minimum tillage, no-till and regenerative farming systems.

What types of rollers can be fitted?

1) Smooth roller — for rolling after seeding, better seed-to-soil contact, reduced moisture evaporation and maintenance of permanent grassland.

2) Cutting roller — for tough crop residues and mechanical control of vegetation cover.

Both variants can be filled with water to increase downforce and the intensity of the cutting effect.

What are the main risks and limitations?

• High soil moisture and plant residues reduce the cutting effect — wet material can be pressed into the soil.
• High tyre pressure on the tractor creates deeper ruts.
• Headlands or areas with excessive biomass should be treated repeatedly.
• When seeding into the mulch, the seed drill must travel in the same direction like TILLCUT.
• Too low a speed will prevent precise cutting and self-cleaning of the rollers.
